The effects of stress differ from one individual to the next but the symptoms are relatively common in all cases. Stress compromises the immune system when left unchecked. Stressed out people may seem to be sick all the time, catching random illnesses at the drop of a hat. That’s why it’s a good idea to put yourself in a more relaxed state when you have something to focus on that demands your full concentration. The one thing you don’t want to do is let stress force you to make bad choices that will only lead to more stress.

Migraines are the worst type of stress-related headaches. Stress can also lead to dental problems or TMJ by clenching your jaw or grinding your teeth. Stress can definitely lead to physical symptoms that get worse over time especially if you don’t find a way to deal with the underlying problems. Your physical symptoms might vanish if you can learn to manage your stress.

Some people respond to stress by acting out in an aggressive way, but others internalize it and experience depression, which in severe cases can make it hard to function. Hopelessness or despair are just two of the symptoms that are experienced because of overwhelming feelings. If you want to turn things around then you have to learn how to deal with the stress. Depression is a common symptom of stress that is often ignored or overlooked. With the many possible reactions to stress, the symptoms discussed herein are by no means complete. The life we lead today results in stress in many areas. While we can’t always control what goes on around us, we can, with practice, learn to respond to things in more relaxed and resourceful ways.
