Advertising your product on Facebook can be exciting and fun. The goal is to the let the 500 million users on Facebook know that your brand exists. 1. Even in the age of social media advertising, it is best to keep things simple. People are bombarded with endless ads for various products throughout the day. When someone visits your Facebook fan page, they will really appreciate a neat, simple design that is pleasant to the eyes.

Remember: people spend a lot of time on the Internet and folks generally have a good idea of what a likable website looks like. A Facebook page is no different. It’s still a website, even though it’s part of a large social networking platform.

Spend some time on the Facebook pages of some of your favorite brands to see what those companies are up to. Modeling a company that is already successful will help you get off on the right foot. You can get instant inspiration by seeing what is already working for others.

6. Don’t forget that social networking is about being social. Often administrators or owners will ignore feedback they receive on their fan pages which in turn frustrates their customers. If concerns and feedback regarding your product are not responded to, people may begin to think the page is inactive and unsubscribe from your page.

You will receive complaints; that is part of being a business owner. Always respond in a tactful and respectful manor. You really should value complaints, because there is always room for improvement and whether you feel the complaint is valid or not don’t alienate your fans by acting defensive or uncaring.

7. You should always reward your fans whenever they make efforts on your business’ behalf. Rewarding your customers is one of the easiest ways to get someone to “Like” your fan page.
